"THOUGHTS OF THE DAY"
"I always expect everything I do to change the world, not just because there's something special about me but because everything in the world was changed by one person, if you think about it. You'd be hard pressed to think of an example of anything that didn't start with one person."
Scott Adams
"Empty pockets never held anybody back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that."
Norman Vincent Peale
"The kinds of people who can go on to greater emotional maturity are those who really like themselves, even if the world seems to turn against them. Their self-worth does not rest on events, but on their opinions of themselves. Their inner security lies in the confidence that they will be able to contend with bad breaks; if they can't change the situation, they will nevertheless somehow endure. They take reverses as part of the normal pattern of living."
Theodore Irwin
"There can only be one state of mind as you approach any profound test; total concentration, a spirit of togetherness, and strength."
Pat Riley

During my struggle with cancer, I'm discovering that recovery comes when we make the hard decisions.
"Worry a little bit every day and in a lifetime you will lose a couple of years. If something is wrong, fix it if you can. But train yourself not to worry. Worry never fixes anything."

"As a Child, YOU did not Quit...YOU tried...YOU stood...YOU walked. Why should YOU quit now?"
Written in 2009 by Sam Vijay Kumar
Actually I am a research scholar from India trying for PhD . Today I received mail from a prestigious university in the UK saying that they regret to have my application for PhD rejected.
I was feeling a little low, as it was more than half a year's work of application. Then I typed in google the words 'motivation stories' and I opened your website and was reading through the stories in 2009 - Unlocking the Giant Inside You. As I was reading the passage I found me saying this to myself, "Sam, when you were a child you tried to stand up and walk and failed and tried again and again and you are walking today. Have you lost that spirit of the child you were? If you could just get that spirit back you can be a winner as you were when you were a child". Then I thought about this as a quotation which if it can help another would be wonderful. So I wanted to submit it to you now and here. Hope it reaches many.
"Every time we look down, past a dark lonely night, remember there's a light in the next day. Whenever you drop 7 times get up 8 times. Never look down, always stick your head up and look at what you've got and do the best with it!"

For everybody who's feeling down either about work or love or just basically life.
"The art of being happy is to be satisfied with what you have."
Written in 2009 by Ranbeer H. --- India
As human beings we are never satisfied. There is lot of jealousy, attitude and conflicts between individuals because of the differences in status/positions that they do not have in common. This gave me a thought that the moment I feel what I have is enough for me, then I will feel happy. With this, I wrote the above quote.
"We are compelled by the indeterminacy of materiality to live with ambiguity."
Mary Futrell ---Submitted by Robert Schlim --- Washington
It's a literary expression of Heisenberg"s principle of uncertainty and reminds one of the probabilities inherent in the events of life.
"If you can't give anything, you should not complain when you receive nothing."
Written in 2009 by Prabhjot Singh Khurana --- India
I just realized, by my little experiences in life, that you have to invest by giving, in order to receive back. You can give love or material things.

"If one man can do it better that means the whole world is getting better."

Well I am inspired by people who are improving themselves and this came into my mind.
"Someone once said, don't judge a book by its cover. So instead, I like to judge a book by the last sentence of the story. Sometimes how something ends can be the beginning of an awesome discovery."

"Don't expect to find life worth living, make it that way."

I found this quote during a difficult time in my life when I was in high school. Needless to say, it drastically changed my life. So much so, that I used it as my yearbook quote.

"Don't think that you are alone. There are two shadows who are following you: FAILURE and SUCCESS. Now it's up to you to decide which one is going to be your friend!"
Written in 2009 by Rishi Raj Gotwell --- India
I wrote this quote myself because I have seen one of my friend's nearly escaping from success because of his negative attitude.
"Today's newest breed of employee is the self-manager. These workers are the ones who survived the recent waves of downsizing, both by seeking and capitalizing, on new opportunities and by learning new skills. Because these employees increasingly possess the skills and technological tools to supervise themselves-individually or in teams-they are eliminating the need for layers of management. More executives will soon find their jobs redundant, while self-managing frontline workers become highly valued and virtually fireproof. Everyone should strive to become self-managed. It is clearly the direction business is taking."

"TIME ! One who respects TIME never has a Bad Time!"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Mandar C. Jambotkar --- India
We are human beings and it's obvious to get depressed by unexpected events. But what is important is how much TIME we spend on grieving about them such as cursing the situation / someone else for it. It's just a waste of time, isn't it? So, whatever the situation, Accept it! Trust HIM, Keep Faith in HIM, and remember - " Faith Can Move Mountains!" So, get back to work. Use the TIME you have in hand. Put in your best and Miracles will happen. What? You don't believe? Try it!

This is what I live my life by. I have, in a way, always felt sorry for the Michael Jordans of the world. They can never be as good at 50 as they were when they were 35. But we can. I'm smarter, more successful and in better physical condition than I was 20 years ago and I just keep working at.

We found it on a Salada tea bag tag some years ago, and it has often helped us in facing reality and making appropriate decisions in various aspects of life.
