"Positive Thoughts Of The Day"
"Attitude can be changed - and, like our state of mind, is just a matter of how we think about things. A change in attitude, without any apparent change in skills or behavior, can result in quantum improvements in performance."
Harry Alder
"A team based environment demands that you make responsible decisions; it requires you to take charge of your career. It requires you to develop excellent interpersonal skills because you have to interact at a much different level with your team members. No longer is it just you and your job!"
Catherine Pulsifer
"When in doubt, make a fool of yourself. There is a microscopically thin line between being brilliantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idiot on earth. So what the hell, leap!"
Cynthia Heimel
"Oftentimes it's far better to have an open mind than be a person who is knowledgeable and yet has the tendency to be narrow minded. People who know a lot of facts tend to brag, be judgmental and oftentimes assume they know everything. They seem to project a feeling of supremacy and the power that goes along with it and cannot stoop down to people that are not equally mentally stimulating. They seem almost academic in their thinking. An open minded individual may have limited knowledge or technical know how but is open to embrace and munch on as much as life has to offer. They tend to learn from life and apply the knowledge to their own life and seem to be very understanding and have a friendly attitude. Very Human! So which one are you?"

I have observed how people react violently or awkwardly towards a lot of issues. As for me I try to just welcome thoughts, differences, ideologies etc., but am sad that those who have matured and really know a lot, think so narrow. I have limited academic wisdom but I think it doesn't matter. I share my thoughts and welcome the individuality of people. I respect their thoughts and hopefully, at some point, we get to share knowledge and compromise.
"At least 98% of the things people complain about are things they can do something to change."

I've always liked quotes. This, I'm sure, is one of a combination of many I've read and thought about at work or during times where I've had to face problems in my life. I really believe it's 100% that we can change by doing something other than complaining about our problems. I've just always left a grey area there when I've told other people the quote.

"If we lived for a thousand years, and saw just one exciting or beautiful image every day, we would likely never scratch the surface of what is still out there, to enjoy, and/or experience. I just hope that we get the chance to do so, before mankind screws the rest of them up."

Thought of this in response to an email from a dear friend, depicting some of the wonderful sights and images from the Polar Regions.

"Long tolls the bell of school days in the hearts of those who remember the sweetness of their youth."
Written in 2004 by Ron Sills --- Texas
At my age, I still can close my eyes and see, feel and smell the wonderful days of youthful abandon, friends and adventures. I hope all children will hold tight to their youth.
"As parents, we have to remember that life is never about once chance, there'll be new chances and opportunities every day."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Anil Taparia --- India
I keep telling myself this, whenever my child underperforms, and I request all parents not to put excessive pressure on their children to excel in their studies or career, as life has tons and tons of opportunities.

"At times we have to remind ourselves that we are not always in control of our own life's destiny. However, putting forth the extra effort into the things we desire or want can sometimes reward us. On the other side of the coin: Just because we put forth the effort into something does not necessarily guarantee us anything. We are just vessels in life. We may prepare and organize our chartered course but there will always be certain elements that cause our direction to change. The current may flow against us, our bows may break, a storm may even delay our departure or we may just end up at a different destination then we planned. When one door opens... another closes. Where there is an ending, there is a beginning. What is meant to be is meant to be.. We just have to just keep on opening doors and accept that life is forever changing and to make the best of things before us at this time. Remember that taking a risk is a part of life and not taking one is considered failure, no matter what the outcome and if something good comes your way, embrace it."

I was going through some rough times at the moment with a relationship and no matter how hard I was trying to make things right it just never worked. I realized that some things are just not meant to be.
"If you envy successful people, you create a negative force field of attraction that repels you from ever doing the things that you need to do to be successful. If you admire successful people, you create a positive force field of attraction that draws you toward becoming more and more like the kinds of people that you want to be like."
Brian Tracy
"When you talk about your troubles, your ailments, your diseases, your hurts, you give longer life to what makes you unhappy. Talking about your grievances merely adds to those grievances. Give recognition only to what you desire. Think and talk only about the good things that add to your enjoyment of your work and life. If you don't talk about your grievances, you'll be delighted to find them disappearing quickly."
Thomas Dreier
"When the archer misses the mark, he turns and looks for the fault within himself. Failure to hit the bull's eye is never the fault of the target. To improve your aim
improve yourself."

This is something my father always said when I was growing up. It's very simple, but very true. If I want to do it, I can.

This is what I told an associate who was complaining about the economy. He wanted everything to be "like it was". It's never again going to be like it WAS. It's our job to make it how it will BE.
"You're the captain of your ship. You choose the life you wish to be. It's all in the mind. You can't blame anyone for what happens in your life or what life may bring. It's your attitude towards life that spells the difference. Life can be the worst of worst you can ever imagine or the best of the best you can ever think of... that depends on how you perceive things. You make the choice and it's what will happen. Sounds very basic and seems unfathomable, but it's the key."

"Celebrating someone else's success is not a measure of your own failure."

A lot of people do not realize that you can truly be happy for someone else when they reach a goal, get a job, have a baby, or simply when God smiles on them. Their success has nothing to do with the things that may be going on in your own life. So be happy for them. One day, they will be happy for you too.
