Excerpt from the poem "Get is straight"
"I believe... that the person who says that "nothing comes for free" knows absolutely nothing about the power and strength of human kindness."
Written in 2007 by Andrew Naigulevu --- Fiji Islands
"Doing one good thing for a person makes the whole day worth living."

"Your success depends more on how you adapt to things that you are not tuned to do. Finally you realize, "This is perfect for me!!" So when things don't go your way be frustrated, but only for a while, because that realization will dawn any moment!"
Written in 2007 by Ankit Joshi --- India
I've always ended up doing things that were the last on my options list, be it education, selecting colleges, professionally... and I know there are thousands like me trying to find happiness in what they don't like to do.
"It doesn't matter where you are, it matters how you are!"

"Pride is a mirage built on egocentric illusions."
Written in 2007 by Pritesh Jethwani --- India
"I've always prided myself on doing things on my own; strength in my solitude, adopting a man against the world attitude. Many do the same. We've all heard that life is a journey, be it spiritual, emotional or just living our lives. If this is true, then all the lives one has touched and of those that have touched oneself will always be with you. So, when walking the dark road thinking no one is by your side, one is never truly alone. Remember, no one has a choice in the start of their own life, but one must bravely walk to its end."

"There is no such thing as a "self-made" man. We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts, as well as our success."
George Adams
"Because we all share a wish for happiness and an identical need for love, it is possible to feel that anyone we meet, in whatever circumstances, is a brother or sister. We do not need to become religious; nor do we need to believe in an ideology. I believe that at every level of society the key to a happier and more successful world is the growth of compassion."
Dalai Lama
"Last, but by no means least, courage - moral courage, the courage of one's convictions, the courage to see things through. The world is in a constant conspiracy against the brave. It's the age-old struggle - the roar of the crowd on one side and the voice of your conscience on the other."
Douglas MacArthur
"Why walk out on the world when the world is not ready to walk out on you?"
Written in 2007 by David St-Amour --- Canada
A friend of mine was going to take her life - these words are why she is still here today.
"Goals are what push us forward! Without goals there is no target to aim at...without a target it's a crap shoot...win or lose...you never know!"

I have workshops on goal setting and visualization. Whatever we think about most and feel most is what comes out in our lives. Set goals and you will succeed!
"On Beauty .... And Life ...Effort Produces ... Results ..."
Written in 2007 by Donna Avvento --- Connecticut
Since my experience is in the, "Beauty Industry", the most profound statement (upon meeting a first time client) is.... "I can't do a thing with my hair. Why??" My reply, "What do you do on a daily basis to your hair?" Client's reply, "Well, I just get up, and go!" Just as life, the more you put in, the more you get out.
"Only when you begin to give "unconditional love" to yourself, can you give it to others."
Written in 2007 by Michelle W. Seamons --- Utah
I am really learning to love myself unconditionally. I have noticed that my relationships with loved ones and friends are blooming greater and deeper as a result from this.

"Life isn't shaped by the things that happen to us, but by the way we deal with them."

I think I've heard this quote before, just worded differently. It helps me out when things get tough.
"Never bind yourself to circumstances, go beyond circumstances."
Written in 2007 by Neelam Kheer - India
Motivations lie deep in us. Sometimes we need external factors to find them. Search for those external factors. Even if you find and choose the wrong one, do not despair. In it, there is something to motivate you. Think how best can I learn from the situation and think how well can I solve it? It May or may not be 100%. Never bother about results, just you do your best work and then analyze it and do better the next time. Remember: "If one door is closed, life opens thousands of doors."
"Though often unaware...we are living the life we imagined."
Written in 2005 by Michael J. Kelly --- Colorado
"A moment of anger, sadness or joy is short lived; it comes and goes, but when it is captured in a painting, it becomes immortalized and outlives the human race."
Written in 2006 by Nataly Hachem --- Lebanon
I wrote it myself, from my own experience and personal feelings towards painting.

"My philosophy: Life is too short to regret. At one point everything you did willingly is exactly what you wanted so live it up, drink it down, laugh loudly, dance wildly, sing horribly, live freely, love openly, give graciously, and take humbly."

It is my personal philosophy that I have learned to live my life by. No matter what goes wrong, I just keep moving and live for the good moments.
