Where Is Your Energy Focused?
Is It Time To Think About You?
My Champion and I just got back from a relaxing weekend spent in Hunter Mountain. We stayed in an old Victorian House called The Fairlawn Inn.
The Inn Keeper, Chuck, immediately greeted us and showed us to our room. A very charming place which I highly recommend to all. Our reason for this mini escape was to witness a firework spectacular and some much needed relaxation.
I felt this would be the perfect opportunity to shut down and think through my game plan in regards to my business, self care, work, extended family situations along with the big life we live daily.
Yup, no Zip Lining for this chick, at least not this time. Nope, quiet introspection for me.... Oh Boy, OH BOY... Be careful with what you wish for, you just may get it. At the end of the day,the breakthrough IS ALWAYS WORTH IT! And I am so thankful for the great friends whom let me clear and never hold me small.
I found myself noticing how I have a tendency to put more time & energy into the things that are someone else's priorities other than my own. My awakening occurred when speaking about revamping my business and decided if I treated my business like It belonged to someone else, maybe then would I give it the attention and care I do for my other job.
Sounded silly at first, knowing in between my private clients and full time job I'm diligently studying, writing and reorganizing. Yet somehow, it feels like I am spent. I question myself to where my energy is and what is it I am spending it on?
I've also noticed when speaking to a few friends, they too have been examining their lives, noticing their own needs seem to be placing last on their to do list as well.
I'm not speaking about being the classic people pleaser here. I'm simply just recognizing no matter how big or small a task, our personal needs seem to be taking a back seat when it comes to dealing with them and their placement on the "TO DO LIST", and order of importance.
I know we are being stretched like an arrow along side its bow for a reason. The torque is tight and sometimes feels like it's just about to snap... yet, I believe this is our spiritual "Wake Up Call", screaming at us to take notice and decide.
Are we willing to make a change? Or..., will we continue to put others needs before our own, on our TO DO list of importance?
If we examine this closely, we will see this behavior has become a distraction of sorts, our safety net if you will. One I call subconscious avoidance.
Are you ready to recognize your busyness and see that your priorities deserve as much time and energy as you give to everyone else's?
It's different for everyone. There is no right or wrong. You just need to take a long, hard look and see if this method of task production is working for you or not. Simple really.
"Is this working for you?" a question I ask myself often.
If you say, "Why as a matter of fact, YES, it is", then GREAT good for you!
If no, then keep doing something different until you find what works for you.
You'll know when it feels right! You will know when you are on the right path. Look at the excitement in the discomfort instead of the dread of it.It's just the bow pointing you in the right direction.
Yippee, here is an opportunity to make a change, to shift. To treat yourself like you treat others, work as hard for you as you do for your boss.
Think of yourself as the arrow being prepared for flight, aiming directly at its goal.
Remember: once you know something, you cannot, not know it.
So my friends .... It's Always Perfect!
Until next time,
Peace & Blue Jeans (with some extra energy),
Cynthia
