MOTIVATION FOR TEENS
SUBMITTED BY TEENS

"Have you ever wondered what marks our time here? If one life can really make an impact on the world? Or if the choices we make matter? I believe they do. And I believe that one man can change many lives. For better...or worse."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by B.T., Age 17 --- Texas

"A dog that barks once, gets punished for it, and never barks again has learned the wrong lesson. A dog that barks once, gets punished for it, and then proceeds to bark and LIVES HAPPILY has learned the right lesson."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Kenneth P., Age 17 --- Washington
Know that you shall always be persecuted for your thoughts but don't let anyone get you down and always LIVE HAPPILY.

"Even if your heart is broken, you have to move on. Because if you don't, you won't realize how many other people there are to fall in love with. It may be hard, but everyone is strong enough to get over a heartache."
Written in 2009 by CMAT, Age 16 --- Ohio

"Life is a road journey with many twist and turns, highs and lows. Destination is your goal, you are the car; education/knowledge is your map and fuel is your spirit/determination/hard work."
Written in 2010 by Ritesh K., Age 16 --- India
I personally wrote this one... while I was thinking about my life.

"I am not a freak, I am unique. Always smile at your problems, everyone else does."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Ravi B., Age 18 --- India

"Everyone makes mistakes. But those mistakes don't matter at all. What does matter is how fast you can recover from them and learn. Mistakes are mini lessons in life where you learn something you can't learn in school or from others. Mistakes are lessons you must learn yourself."
Written in 2009 by K.L., Age 13 --- Texas
I had actually written this one but I got the idea from my choir teacher. We always made mistakes while singing and she told us that she didn't care but she did care if we learned and recovered from them. Thank you, Mrs. V!

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Saloni G., Age 13 --- India
This helps us to understand the importance of success and the preparations to be made for it. Success is temporary but preparations remain permanent.

...
"It is not actually what you do that's worth it, but the way you do it is. This is one of the most essential steps to succeed in life."
Written in 2010 by Luis P., Age 15 --- Venezuela
I was thinking about life and this thought came to my mind.

...
"Motivate yourself by becoming the strongest person you can be; a lot of doubt comes from a lack of self-esteem. Look deep into your past and realize why you are searching for motivation. Develop strong faith in whatever god you believe in because that's where you get the strength to motivate you and everyone around you."

Because this is how I feel about motivation. All aspects of life come hand and hand. Balancing the never ending equilibrium should be the goal of any person because balance is what builds happiness. Too much of something and it becomes not interesting or worn out; too little and it could create sadness and depression comes along with that.

"Don't worry about what will happen tomorrow because tomorrow will bring its own worries and trouble. We don't need to rush everything. If something's bound to happen, no matter how, it will happen. Remember, today's trouble is enough for today."

Because some of the teenagers are worried about what will happen tomorrow and somehow they are giving up, without any reason.

"A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life."
Henry Ward Beecher --- Submitted by T.K., Age 13 --- Kentucky
I love libraries and this one was on a message board outside!

"Everybody has a place in his or her life to amend; amend yours to enjoy life!"
Written in 2009 by Ajikere Henry --- Nigeria

"Success does not mean the absence of failure, it is the attainment of ultimate objectives; it means winning the war, not every battle."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Anm N., Age 15 --- India
I like it and it changed my life.

"First off, make your self-confidence, then encourage yourself, and meet your success afterwards."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Vizard U., Age 17 --- Indonesia
Somehow we want to come to our success, but occasionally we don't know how to achieve the success after all. Then I remember my teacher said this, so I decide to write my opinion here.

"Bad thoughts enter our minds on a daily basis. To be at our best, we must be able to dominate them. Then we see who we truly are and what we're capable of doing."
Written in 2010 by Pete Z., Age 18 --- Philippines

"Don't let your past define who you are today. It will try and break you down till there is nothing left. God always gives people second chances."
Written in 2009 by Kenneth M., Age 17 --- Massachusetts
I wrote this quote when I was feeling down and when I look at it, I feel like I have worth.

"If you spend all your time on yourself, what time is spent on those who need it the most?"
Written in 2010 by Nate S., Age 18 --- Virginia

"Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Kaylee P., Age 14 --- Utah
In cross country this year, I noticed that if you have a bad attitude about something in practice, like the long runs and the striders and stuff, then the people around you tend to have a bad attitude. But when you have a good attitude about the practices, then those other people who have the bad attitudes might just say, "Hey it's not that bad after all. It might even be fun if I try to enjoy it".

"Don't ever let anyone tell you that change is impossible, because it's not. A scientist once said that the brain is plastic, meaning that the brain is pliable, like a piece of wood it can be shaped and modeled into anything you want it to be. Don't ever say you "can't", I know you have heard this many times, but those two words are fear words that will incapacitate you and cause you to give up. All it takes is hard work and patience and before you know it, that task that you thought impossible is now possible in 100 different ways. All because you stuck with it and achieved what you thought to be impossible."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by J.C., Age 18 --- Michigan
For a while now I have been struggling with math, and it never really been one of my strong points. But a few days ago I was sitting down listening to a pastor speak to a group of young people, and he said that science had proven that the brain is plastic. Meaning that God made your brain in such a way that it can be manipulated into whatever you choose. So if you want to be a master piano player, with dedication and hard work you can achieve that goal. If you wanted to be a world class surgeon, with dedication and hard work you can accomplish that goal. But remember, this does not just happen on a whim. You have to have focus, dedication, patience and perseverance in order to accomplish your goals. And if you do this, I guarantee that you will see results because with God anything is possible.... NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!!!!!!

"Tell me who you hang with and I'll tell you who you are!"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Aliyah P., Age 14 --- Florida
People are known for judging you by who your friends are.

"If the loser keeps his smile, the winner will lose the thrill of victory. So keep smiling, even if you lose."
Written in 2010 by Mohit A., Age 16 --- India

How scary it is with doctors all around,
Trying to tell you everything's not sound.
The fear of the word that they all try to avoid,
You know what it is but you try and play coy.

You wonder is this really happening, is this right?
Why on earth me? I can't fight this fight.
Then the dreaded words finally appear,
"I'm sorry to say you have cancer, my dear."

Your entire world comes crashing down,
You can't breathe nor speak; you can't make a sound.
There's a long, hard road ahead,
Lots of radiation, needles, and meds.

At times you'll feel dead yet alive,
But deep inside you know,
You will survive.
Written in 2009 by Cassie H., Age 15 --- Illinois
No matter what life throws at us, as long as we are strong, we will survive and we will make it through. I am living proof.

"The greatest of all warriors are these two: Time and Patience."
Written in 2009 by Todd E., Age 14 --- Australia
This quote helps me when I train, to stay focused for a long time, because I know the longer and harder I train, the more results I will see!

"Not everything needs to be fixed."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Farzana P., Age 15 --- U.A.E.
Because I think people always complain that nothing's perfect. Well, it just doesn't have to be :)
