"Don't ask yourself why me? Instead, ask yourself what's next?"
Written in 2010 by Mary H.D., Age 15 --- Tennessee

"What is prejudice but a fear of the unknown?"
Written in 2010 by Michael B., Age 16 --- Pennsylvania
I believe that all ethical/religious/gender hatred is most shown by those with the most fear.

"Never under estimate yourself. You have the ability to do everything. Never believe you have to stay within limits; you have the power to do everything. All you need is just to try once."
Written in 2010 by Manjot Kaur
I chose this because it happened to me. I was always too afraid to face people and my teacher of social science said to me that words cross the limits in which you always stay. Just try and you can do everything.I did try and I gave a speech in front of my whole school and got the number 1 position in the Best Speech Competition. So I hope you can benefit from what I learned.

"Life is too beautiful to wake up in the morning with worries, go through the day with anger, and go to sleep with tears and sadness."
Written in 2010 by Zohary G., Age 14 --- California
I write what I feel (:

"Victory only comes after a struggle; pull yourself together because I know you going to make it. You still have your whole life ahead of you; happiness is waiting for you at the end of the tunnel."

Every journey has different obstacles, however they all lead to happiness.

"Finish what you can finish today."

This is actually from the quote "Don't wait until tomorrow what can be done today," but I made it simpler.

"I would rather die being myself than being something I'm not."
Written in 2010 by Jovan P., Age 14 --- New Jersey
I chose to write this quotation because many people, but mostly teens, get killed for being something they're not such as joining the game and doing unnecessary things. I would rather die knowing that I've accomplished a goal and that my name is left behind as a person who made something of themselves.

"In the blindest moment of darkness, all you have to do is open your eyes."

"I pray god never throws a tear into my sister's eyes; even if it may cost me my life. Let my entire share of happiness be thrown into her life, so that she never regrets having me as her brother."
Written in 2010 by Tej P.S., Age 16 --- India
While my sister (TRISHA) was away from me, I actually realized how important sisters are.

"What others think about you is none of your business."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Avijeet M., Age 16 --- India
Why should we care what others think about our work, and us if we know we are right? We should reply to people who discourage us by our work, not by our tongue.

"Those who are always willing to accept defeat and sadness acquire happiness. If one does not want sadness to come to them, maybe then they should ask themselves whom they want the sadness to go to?"
Written in 2010 by Sphume Z., Age 18 --- South Africa
I wrote this not because I never get sad myself but because I've learnt that sometimes one needs to be sad in order to gain happiness. This also made me realize that accepting sadness is in fact the best thing that one can do for oneself.

"The sexiest thing about a girl is confidence."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by J.S., Age 17 --- California
I love this quote and think it is the truest thing anyone could have said.

"Knowing is better than wondering... waking is better than sleeping and better yet, even the biggest failure beats the hell out of never trying."
Written in 2010 by Brittany C., Age 15 --- Pennsylvania

Written in 2010 by Zafar M., Age 16 --- Australia

"Misery is not company or a battle scar. It is a teacher. Your homework: learn from it."
Written in 2010 by L.C. N., Age 16 --- California
People tend to treat misery as a right to respect or suffer. When in reality, it is there to separate the good and bad in our lives, and increase our appreciation.
