MOTIVATION FOR TEENS

"You should always try to find the bright side to things, but sometimes you just can't."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Taylor A., Age 13 --- North Carolina
The bright side is not always the brightest; sometimes how things are is better, even if they aren't great.

"Don't ever let anyone say you can't do something; you can do everything, if you set yourself to believe."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by M.D., Age 16 --- Pennsylvania
This has always been a significant saying or quote that's been in my life… it speaks the truth.

"Each day you wake up, God is there with you. He wakes you up so you can start the day. Each day you have a package out in front of your house. You open the package and your day is inside, with all you are doing today. Open that package today and find EVERYTHING that's inside. Not just some things but open it fully to enjoy the package, and share your day with God today, because God has shared this gift with you."

I selected this one because I woke up this morning with this on my heart and I hope it might motivate you to enjoy life today!

"You can't get your yesterdays back so live them to their fullest and don't fill them will choices you will regret for all of your tomorrows."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Miranda M., Age 15 --- New York

"He who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away."
Raymond Hull ---Submitted by Katelynd S., Age 15 --- New Jersey
I selected this to show everyone that trying to be someone else will soon make you lose sight of yourself.

"A wise man told me that a man's weaknesses are his downfall; a broken heart feeling rejected in love. If he learns how to hold himself, he will become strong and smarter. If he doesn't learn, he will remain a little sissy and a crybaby. So hold yourself and look forward in the light and hope that someone will be there; hope that wise man is right."

"What makes a person mature is not the number of years he has spent on earth but the number of problems he has encountered and how he tackled them."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Sunday F., Age 18 --- Nigeria

"Don't hate the player; hate the game that the player plays."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Jenna F., Age 16 --- New York

"Taking no chances means wasting your dreams."
Ellen Hopkins --- Submitted by Taylor M., Age 16 --- South Carolina

"Whenever you see a dream, don't ever let it go because dreams yesterday are the hope for today and reality of tomorrow. . . so do dream!"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Aashish P., Age 17 --- Nepal
It really inspired me a lot in my life.

"Respect everyone, love everyone and care less about those who hate and disrespect you. Live your life to the fullest in a good way now, and also grab every opportunity you get."
Written in 2010 by Selaelo Thoka --- South Africa

"Life is like a marathon; the people in it are like challenges/difficulties. Don't give up when looking at so many challenges, run towards them. Sooner or later they will give up and you will find yourself emerging as a winner."
Written in 2010 by Ritesh K., Age 16 --- India
Composed while passing through a rough time.

I wanted it all to stop
I wanted all the pain to die
I wanted my broken heart to heal
I wanted to be me

I wanted to be loved
I wanted all of it to stop
I wanted people to understand my situation
Who I am.

I wanted them to see me
See the person I wanted to be
I wanted to see the light
I didn't want to say goodbye

All I wanted was all the pain to die
I wanted to be happy, to be free
All I wanted
Was to be me.
Written in 2010 by Katie G., Age 14 --- New Jersey
I wrote this because I hate getting made fun of and I hate all of the pain that comes with it and I want it all to end.

"Not every person has to like you, but don't think that something's wrong with you. Do you think god is perfect? But still there are people who don't like god. You deserve to be loved; just believe that and if they don't, their loss."
Written in 2010 by Piril S., Age 16 --- United Kingdom

"Countless times people have told me that I won't succeed and that I will fall at the first hurdle. They couldn't be more wrong. They will watch me defy their doubts with persistence and courage, and they will watch in awe as I thrive."

A few days ago, I thought I wouldn't achieve the grades that I want for GCSE level. I doubted my own ability, and in doing that I put pressure on myself. Now I know that it doesn't matter what grades I get, as long as I have done everything to the best of my ability.

"How is one supposed to fully live life when all he sees around him is agony, heartbreak and war? When you look beyond those things what do you see? You see happy things... such as Peace, Friendship, Family, and most importantly...Love. It's only when we look past the bad things, will we truly learn to live."

I selected this because I believe that teens nowadays are focused on the bad things in life, so much that they forget that there are good things that are happening around them.

"Destiny is a road that you choose - that doesn't mean that it's paved yet."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Kenneth P., Age 17 --- Washington
Nothing is set in stone, except the things that have already happened, so make your own road.

"We all have problems. So instead of crying about them, pray, suck it up, and keep moving."
Written in 2010 by Orianna B., Age 17 --- North Carolina

"My greatest accomplishment was the day I discovered my purpose. Ever since then, I've being so excited. I'm already executing it and I also discovered that we have to be inspiring. Over here in my country, Nigeria, teens are so comfortable in mediocrity. They don't have an identity, no inspirer. What I'm trying to say is that I'm starting up an organization that would kill this mediocrity in them, giving them an identity so we would have more inspirers and the world would be a better place. Hello teens! What do you see in your world that needs to be changed? Make a bold step today to attempt to achieve that DESIRE."

"Everyone in the world is different; at least one person in the world has to think another is beautiful. There are over 6 billion people in the world and over 6 billion ways to be beautiful."
Written in 2010 by Patricia H., Age 16 --- Delaware

"Don't let your problems pull you down; use your problems to look up and continue to live. There is always a reason for every difficulty that we encounter every day and your problems will be your FUEL and SOURCE for your strength and happiness."
