Be A Master Of Change
Change
What does it take to effectuate change?
Life events often force re-birth, a re-evaluation of ourselves and the way we see and do things. In order for things to get better, we must continually practicethe art of change; train ourselves to seek and welcome it. Despite temporary growing pains that result, keep your eyes on opportunities for growth.
In the last half of 2010, decided 2011 is going to be different for me. I was feeling too comfortable and complacent in life thinking to myself "How much longer is it going to be before I finally getthe point, quit floundering around in the same spot and choose something different?"
Suddenly, felt tired of doing everything the same old way, tired of playing all the games that people play... a songby Barbara Streisand off her "Emotion" cd are words that really nail it. Dad used to say "Get going!" Our perception has to change because until we learn to THINK differently, we won't be able to DO differently.
One thing I learned about moving place to place as a kid was that of flexibility. If your life isn't working and the shoe no longer fits - change course. With that said, hope the quotes included in thisarticle inspire you to keep aiming at bettering yourself.
Decide what it is in life you most want and make it happen. Life is not a dress rehearsal! This is IT. It is easier accepting things as they are, knowing when change is necessary in order to move forward, grow and achieve blessings God might not otherwise have us discover. So often (as I'm sure everyone can relate) - it isn't always waiting on God toDO something - he's waiting on US to show him we are ready for the next step!
I knew changes were needed yet harbored resistance to them.
"All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another."
--- Anatole France
"It's the most unhappy people who most fear change."
--- Mignon McLaughlin
(I learned if you fear pain, you fear change)
"You are responsible for your life. You can't keep blaming somebody else for your dysfunction. Life is really about moving on."
--- Oprah Winfrey
"Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken."
--- Frank Herbert
"Take a second to think about this: in your life you search and search for the right person for you. Every time you break up with someone you get one step closer to that person. You should look atmoving on as getting closer to meeting the one."
--- Ian Philpot
(Actually, it is about BECOMING the person you wish to attract)
"Letting go doesn't mean giving up... it means moving on. It is one of the hardest things a person can do. Starting at birth, we grasp onto anything we can get our hands on, and hold on as if we willcease to exist when we let go. We feel that letting go is giving up, quitting, and that as we all know is cowardly. But as we grow older we are forced to change our way of thinking. We are forced torealize that letting go means accepting things that cannot be. It means maturing and moving on, no matter how hard you have to fight yourself to do so."
