I Look for Possibilities - Do You?

Learn to Train Your Brain

sandhill crane flying, on the ground it almost looks impossible

"People will tell you what is impossible - you must know it's possible. People will say what is wrong or right - you must decide for yourself. People will tell you what to believe in and what not to - be sure you know your feelings on any topic. People may say it is not your place - and you must know that it is."
--- Nicci Cettolin

How often have you been presented with opportunities in your life that seem like impossibilities? Why is that, and is it true?

I implore you to consider the possibilities in each and every situation. Some are easier to see than others, but they are always there.

Can you imagine how much further you can go if you looked for positive outcomes, rather than looking for all the reasons why something won't work?

This cycle will continually happen until you realize you are in a negative frame of mind. Negative thinking does not produce positive results.

If you can notice where your thoughts are taking you and why, you can change them. Remember that we are all responsible for our own feelings and thoughts. Just because a negative thought arises, we don't have to dwell on it or take action to make it come true - sometimes we unconsciously do this to prove ourselves right.

Over the years I have practiced an exercise while driving or sitting at my desk for at least 5 minutes. I say this out loud so I can hear the words rather than just thinking them in my head. It's a little mind game to train my brain, through repetition, to look for the possibilities everywhere and in everyone. This little saying, a personal mantra, that I repeat multiple times, could be called an affirmation; I call it my "mind tweaker."

Here it is: "I'm a good and worthy person, and wonderful opportunities will present themselves to me. I see possibilities everywhere. I like people, and people like me. I'm good with people, and people like working with me. I communicate clearly and listen effectively because I like people and want to help them achieve their dreams."

What I am doing is affirming to myself, every day, that I am open to all possibilities and will continue to evolve, do good, and help other people.

Maybe you do something similar when you need to hear how a conversation or presentation might go. Practice and hearing yourself helps to cement the ideas in your brain. If you are curious, look up the "Key Benefits of Out Loud Practice."

Have a great day; the possibilities are unlimited! All you have to do is train your mind to see them.

Thank you all for your support and help. Without you, **"Motivating Moments"** (MotivateUs.com) would be just another dream instead of a reality!
