"People stop learning when they stop leading."
Written in 2008 by William Johnson Tjan --- Indonesia
We all are leaders. We lead ourselves through this life. We must make decisions in every aspect of our lives. When we have a bigger responsibility, to lead a team, we'll learn many other things, but we have first learned to lead from leading ourselves.

"In all my experience I have found there to be two types of individuals. There are those who make things happen, and those who wait for others to make things happen for them. I ask those who wait. Has the end result ever made you happy?"
Written in 2001 by Izik Anderson --- Indiana
I have worked in the schematics of Corporate America for many years now and have noticed that every individual has the desire to succeed. However, there are few that will because they are afraid to make decisions so they wait for someone else to make the decisions for them. My absolute favorite quote of all time was from Robert Fritz who said, "If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise." I live by this quote. You can never compromise in your career. If you do, you will never be professionally happy.

"Most people who want to get ahead do it backward. They think, 'I'll get a bigger job, then I'll learn how to be a leader.' But showing leadership skill is how you get the bigger job in the first place. Leadership isn't a position; it's a process."
John Maxwell

"Leadership is not so much about technique and methods as it is about opening the heart. Leadership is about inspiration-of oneself and of others. Great leadership is about human experiences, not processes. Leadership is not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. It is an attitude, not a routine. More than anything else today, followers believe they are part of a system, a process that lacks heart. If there is one thing a leader can do to connect with followers at a human, or better still a spiritual level, it is to become engaged with them fully, to share experiences and emotions, and to set aside the processes of leadership we have learned by rote."
