If you have a problem, don't shut out those who care about you. A lot of times, they can help you. Don't shut them out. Opening up is the only way the light gets in.

"It takes water and sunshine to make things grow."
Betty Wright --- Submitted by Nicole S., Age 17 --- South Carolina
I heard Betty Wright say this on an episode of "Making the Band 3" and it really made sense to me. Life's hardships (water) are not always there to knock us down. Instead, with a balanced amount of sunshine, it produces a level of growth within us we never thought we knew.

"Out of those 31,536,000 seconds in the year, have you taken the time to thank your parents for all that they have given you?

Out of those 525,600 minutes in the year, have you taken the time to thank those who have done something good for you?

Out of those 8766 hours in a year have you taken the time to thank your true friends for always being there for you?

Out of those 365 days in the year have you taken the time to thank your family for helping you grow and develop throughout your whole life?

In that 1 year, have you taken the time to thank all those that you forgot to thank in all the past years before that?

Always say thank you because you never know if there is going to be a tomorrow."

"Everything happens for a reason, so when you think you've lost everything and that there is nothing left to live for, just remember, even bad things happen for a reason, you just have to live to find out what that reason was."
Written in 2006 by R.K., Age 15 --- Connecticut
This quote I is something I wrote and live by every day. Being a teenager is hard; I know for a fact that there are days when I ask myself, "What's the point in trying if everything always turns out bad?" But guess what? If you stick with my quote and truly believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason, you'll learn to appreciate even your bad days, for they ultimately help you reach your GREAT days.

My saying really just means to live life to its fullest and to not be in too big of a hurry to grow up or else you might skip the best days of your life! ~I thought of this because I am kind of an impatient person and I almost missed out on my greatest memories.

"NO one cares more about you than yourself. You are the mirror into the view of intellect and perfection. Just like everyone else, you have the power to see the real you. It's wanting to that is the complication. Strive for intellect not perfection. Chances are you will never see how perfect you really are; if you don't start now."
