You Choose Where Focus Goes

I keep thinking about how healing is rarely obvious in the moment. It doesn't always show up in big changes or clear turning points. Most of the time, it's quieter than that.

And if I'm being honest, most people are carrying something they're still working through, even when life on the outside looks fine.

What I've noticed is how easy it is to stay focused on what hurt. Not because we want to stay there, but because the mind holds onto what feels familiar. And sometimes familiar feels easier than uncertain.

But there comes a point where you start to realize you don't have to keep replaying it.

You don't have to erase what happened. It mattered. It was real. But it also doesn't need to keep shaping every decision you make today. That shift is subtle, but it changes everything.

When your attention starts moving toward what you want to build instead of what you're trying to leave behind, something in you opens up again.

Maybe the real question becomes less about what happened, and more about what you're still allowing it to control.

And if you really sit with it... what would your life look like if that weight wasn't steering it anymore?

Just sit with that for a second.
