"The best tonic in the world is the exhilaration which comes from the consciousness of personal power. " --- Orison Swett Marden

The Choice Inside the Moment
Maybe personal power is quieter than we think.
I keep thinking about the words personal power.
Maybe we make them more complicated than they need to be.
Maybe personal power isn't about controlling everything around us.
Maybe it's that quiet feeling of knowing we can choose what happens inside us.
A thought shows up.
Someone says something.
Something doesn't go the way we hoped.
There's that moment when we can react without thinking... or pause and choose what we want to do with it.
I've noticed that what I focus on seems to have a way of growing.
When I look for what's wrong, I usually find more of it.
And when I look for something good, something hopeful, or a possibility, I seem to notice more of that too.
Maybe that's the exhilaration Marden was talking about.
Not power over other people.
Something personal.
That feeling when you realize you have more choice in how you meet each moment than you may have thought before.
Have you ever noticed that?
Take care and look for the good in today.
Sending Love and Blessings,
P.S. When people ask me what I do, this is what I say: "In our fast world, I help people pause, think a little deeper, and perhaps discover something wonderful about themselves along the way."
