Learn To Overcome Your Fear Of Losing What You Have
Have you ever noticed how people expect that what they own or people they have relationships with will be theirs forever? Yet, in a blink of an eye, all of that can change.
I know this to be true. It happened to a friend of mine. Her husband was in an accident, and he suffered a devastating traumatic brain injury. As a result, he wasn't the same person he was before. He didn't recognize the people he loved anymore and was violent, even though it wasn't his fault.
My friend's hardest decision was whether or not to move her husband, whom she loved, into a facility where he could receive 24-hour care. And she did because she loved him and wanted what was best for him.
My point in telling you this? Remember that nothing lasts forever. Not the good times nor the bad times. And everybody gets something in their life that will throw them for a loop. Maybe they lose their job, home, or a lifestyle they had become accustomed to due to circumstances they never imagined.
We think the people who come into our lives will be there forever, but we come to know that this is not true. Yet when they are gone, their memory stays with us, and their spirit keeps living, but their physical body returns to the earth.
This doesn't mean that we cannot be happy or hopeful, loving, caring, or kind as we continue to live. We have to continue with our paths, and as we move forward, I hope we become a lot more tolerant and non-judgemental because we can and need to.
The following article is a short read, and I hope it will make you think today about your view your world and those in it. Let's continue: What Are You Afraid Of?
