Making Room for Something New

What are we holding onto, and why?

I started this morning looking around the house for things I could donate to our local thrift store.

It's funny how difficult it can be to decide what to let go of. Sometimes there are possessions I've held onto for years. Other times, it's something relatively new.

I know myself well enough to realize that once I make a decision, that's it. Done!

But it got me thinking about other things in life that might be worth letting go of.

I've experienced how letting go of something or someone makes me feel. Nobody really wants to experience the pain that can come with those decisions.

But sometimes, if we just sit with that feeling for a few minutes, we realize it may not last as long as we imagined.

I guess it's time for me to clean house and share some of my treasures with people who might appreciate them just as much.

You can't hold onto everything. Well, I suppose you can, but then you have a lot more to take care of and I want my life to feel a little lighter.

I wonder how many possessions, people, and situations we hold onto simply because we're not quite ready to let them go.

Take care and be happy!

Love and blessings,
Marlene
