You don't have to be a world class athlete. You have to be a world class person. Yes you will falter many, many times - but you get back up and try it again. Look for the good in people, it's there usually right in front of your eyes yet somehow overlooked. Don't forget - there are a lot of us in the world who are good, who are doing the right things and yes - it matters!
Today is your day - pat yourself on the back for making it this far. I'm sure you've had hardships and heartaches you never thought you would get through but you did and you are an inspiration to many and you might not even know it.
Be gentle and less critical of yourself and others. They are just trying to make it too.
