I think that everyone is capable of love and compassion. Many people have good role models, which help inspire them to be more loving, kind, generous, and compassionate. Others haven't been as fortunate, so they have to figure it out as they go.

Most likely, you are a role model for others. The way you live your life and conduct yourself gives your circle of influence clues on how to treat themselves and others.

We want to get it right; we want to be a good, positive role model. Sometimes we get it right, and sometimes not. That's okay; we are human and prone to errors and mistakes. One critical piece of this life puzzle is to learn not only to be loving and compassionate with others but to also be loving and compassionate with ourselves.
