How many people are struggling for success? I would say plenty. But what about excellence? No so many. You can't catapult to success by wishful thinking or just wanting it so badly. You have to work at it and hone your craft.
For those who don't recognize the name, "Mike Krzyzewski," think head coach - men's basketball - Duke University. Coach K's leadership style has produced many NCAA champions and over 1170 victories ( an NCAA record). Needless to say, Mike knows what he's talking about because his plans and actions mimic his words.
How is excellence defined? According to vocabulary.com, "Excellence means greatness — the very best. Achieving excellence is never easy to do. Excellence is a quality that people really appreciate because it's so hard to find. Excellence is the quality of excelling, of being truly the best at something."
Being the best at something requires practice, commitment, perseverance, and a never-give-up spirit.
Whatever job or career you are pursuing right now, stand apart from the crowd by shooting for excellence in your work. Believe me; there's so little competition for excellence that when you look over your shoulder, don't be surprised when you see success waving at you and signaling a thumbs up!
