"Imagine Jesus, with all power, Came to earth, and took a fleshly body. The body has no power. It's the Spirit that has the power over the flesh. It's a decision He made to become flesh, With an all powerful Spirit. What I need to do Is allow the same to occur in my flesh." --- © 1998 Robert Gary Lee --- Maryland "I believe in living a life less ordinary...yet extraordinary." --- Timmy Fernandez --- Malaysia "There is no need to run outside for better seeing... rather abide at the center of your being; for the more you leave it the less you learn. Search your heart and see...The way to do is to be." --- Lao-tzu --- Submitted by Lauren Stryker --- Ohio "It's not the burdens of everyday that drive men mad. It is the regret of yesterday and the fear of tomorrow. Regret and fear are twin thieves that rob us of today." --- Unknown --- Contributed by B. Cecile --- Canada "Every act of forgiveness has the same nature And the unique expression. Our challenge is to create our own particular style of forgiveness That sends a healing message. Forgiveness clears a space in the mind Where hope finds enough room To devise practical strategies of change...... Here is an affirmation I wrote to use when I need to forgive: Beloved God, Freedom lies in forgiveness. Take these feelings of pain and hurt and transform us both. I am willing to have my perceptions healed that I might rise above, That I might hurt no longer, that I be released from this suffering. I ask that (* name of person* ) be healed And given new life in our loving. Guide us both to new life in Love by releasing the past. By God's Grace, may this Love be made anew, Sustained and live forever and ever. Dear God, take our pain and heal our hearts. Guide us in our journey." --- Tamara Robinson "When your world seems like too much to handle, Just take a deep breath and laugh. It clears the mind and frees your spirit." --- Michael P. Miller --- California Believe Believe in yourself in the power you have to control your own life day by day Believe in the strength that you have deep inside will help you show the way Believe in tomorrow and what it will bring let a hopeful heart carry you through For things will work out if you trust and believe there's no limit to what you can do!!! --- Copyright © Emily Matthews --- Contributed by Serene Yang --- Malaysia --- Author's name provided by Courtney Mink --- 9-15-00 My Dream: "I had a dream the other night, that the world was full of peace That people of all creeds and colors, let all hatred cease That every child in their mother's womb, would have a chance at life That people would be healed to walk, hear and have sight That the news we read everyday, would be good and never bad That all people would recognize, the talents that they have That every person had a job, and slept in a warm bed That people in all parts of the world would have food and be fed That greed, jealousy and envy, would be a thing of the past That every marriage would be a happy one, and would forever last That every little girl and boy had a gift under the tree That the world knew Christ and His love and shared it endlessly But like all things my dream ended, and I felt a sense of loss So I prayed the dream would become reality, like Jesus and the Cross" --- Copyright © 1997 --- Brian G.Jett Freedom "Freedom in Christ is to be a new creature Freedom to walk, not as we were Freedom to live a life of example Freedom to carry our burdens no more Freedom to fly, like a kite up to heaven But held to this earth, by a powerful grace Tied by the strength, of his love and forgiveness Gives us freedom to win At whatever the race." --- Carl Boyd --- Canada "Through the doors of perception Down the corridors of uncertainty Into the room of self doubt Opens the window of opportunity." --- David Parker --- Australia "The only thing that you can carry with you on your travels is your heart. I knelt to pray but not for long I had too much to do Must hurry off and get to work For bills would soon be due. And as I said a hurried prayer Jumped up from off my knee My duty was now done My soul could be at ease All through the day I had no time To speak a word of cheer No time to speak to friends They'd laugh at me I fear No time...No time too much to do That was my constant cry No time to give to those in need At last it was time to die And when the Lord I came I stood with downcast eyes With His hands He held a book It was The Book of Life He look in the book and said Your name I cannot find I once was going to write it down But never found the time. --- Jannie Putter --- South Africa "It seems to be a law of nature, inflexible and inexorable, that those who will not risk cannot win." --- Paul Jones, the Revolutionary War naval hero --- Sent in by Steve Richardson --- Missouri "Every day matters." --- Author Unknown --- Sent in by Wes Wright ---Texas "Though it's important that people know you, it is more important if they think you are worth knowing." --- David Sees --- Florida "Friends are like melons, shall I tell you why? If you break your neck, If you have nothing to eat, If your house is on fire, Then you've got a problem. Everything else is an inconvenience. Life is inconvenient. Life is lumpy. A lump in the oatmeal, A lump in the throat And a lump in the breast Are not the same kind of lump. One needs to learn the difference." --- Rev. Wonder upon the texture of its bloom Beauty of colour, form, and sweet perfume. On earth, behold its glory! From lofty height, gaze on a cloudless sky Upon a scene to take your breath away The awesome grandeur of the mountain peak The shining ribbon of the river's creek On earth, behold their glory! The colours of the sunset sky, behold Pale turquoise streaked with roseate hues, or gold; Clouds, silver lined, star studded skies at night The smiling radiance of the moon's strange light, Above behold their glory! But how much greater will the prospect be For Christians who behold the heavenly! The Saviour willed, in His High-Priestly prayer That such should His eternal Kingdom share And these, behold His glory! Before He had the world's foundation laid God's love was in His only Son displayed And that same love extends to all mankind, Oh! what amazing grace, when eyes, once blind Behold His perfect Glory!!!" --- Dorothy Bull (England) --- This work is copywritten and we have permission to reprint --- Sent to us by Rose Perry --- Australia "All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love." --- Leo Tolstoy --- Contributed by Meghan "Sometimes on the way to our dreams, we get lost and find an even better one!" --- Author Unknown --- Contributed by Martha Gil --- Virginia A Note to Our Lord "I see the homeless with no place to go, I see the hungry so sick and frail, I see the beaten with hate in their eyes, I see the lost children with no hope, I see those who lost so much in our wars, If I had three wishes - they would be, Homes and food for the homeless and hungry, Tenderness for the beaten and lost, And love for all so there will be no more wars, I thank you God for I am blessed, I only have the illness known as MS." --- Linda Lehmann, Multiple Sclerosis --- Support Group Leader --- Sent in by Janita Wutzke (Jan) --- Washington "Love is friendship caught on fire." --- Pamela McDuffy Solace "When in the pursuit of happiness Obstacles cross our way, When all seems lost And there is a darkening of the day.
