I'm curious, how many times have you been offered an opportunity, even though you had never done it before? I know I have. Before starting our website, MotivateUs.com, I was in the bar business, the car business and the VAR business, including working with an ISP to sell, design and market my customers websites. Each opportunity was new and exciting, so I had to learn, as I worked, to excel as quickly as I could. What skills did I need to even get the offers? Self-confidence, enthusiasm, people skills, curiosity and the willingness to learn and educate myself. Perhaps your careers have been like this too?

So when an opportunity presents itself to you, one that you would love to pursue but you are unsure if you can handle it, remember - maybe you can. Don't sell yourself short. You're smart, flexible, interested, and enthusiastic about the possibilities. Will it be easy to decide? Maybe. Just remember that someone saw something in you to make the offer. Now, it's your turn to decide how you will respond.
