What Has Changed You?
Some things leave us with more than memories.
During my time away, I came across this quote and found myself sitting with it.
Love, music, art and loss.
Such a simple list. Yet when I looked back, I could see how each had quietly changed parts of my life.
The first three were easy to understand.
Songs can take us somewhere in an instant.
People we have loved can change how we see the world.
Art can make us stop and feel something unexpected.
But loss? That one took me longer.
Maybe you have looked back at something you didn't want to lose and realized you somehow made it through. Not unchanged. Maybe not even better. But different.
And perhaps, somewhere along the way, you began appreciating not only what life gave you, but some of what it didn't.
I wonder if that is where bravery sometimes begins.
