Finding Resilience Through Life's Unexpected Moments
Something inside of me kept coming back to today's quote.
I've read it at least 20 times over the last few months, and today the word that stayed with me was resilience.
Not the kind of resilience that means we never struggle or that difficult moments don't affect us. The kind that quietly shows up when life asks more from us than we expected.
I wonder how many times you've looked back at your own life and realized you were stronger than you thought.
There are probably moments you can remember when you handled something you never thought you could. At the time, you may not have felt strong. You may have simply been doing what you needed to do, taking one step after another.
That is the interesting thing about resilience. We don't always recognize it while we are experiencing it. Sometimes we are too focused on the challenge in front of us to notice what is happening within us.
Later, when we look back, we see something different.
We see the patience. The courage. The strength that carried us through.
Maybe that is why I keep coming back to this quote. Resilience is easy to notice in other people, but sometimes harder to recognize in ourselves.
Maybe resilience is easier to see when we look back than when we are actually living through it.
