Does Your Body Language Know About Patience?

Have you ever noticed that we tell ourselves to be patient, but our bodies give us away? The tapping foot, the tight shoulders, the stare that gets a little too intense.

It's funny how our minds say one thing while the rest of us is screaming something else entirely.

But here's the part we forget: patience is a practice, not a personality trait. You build it, moment by moment.

Where do we start? Here are a three suggestions to try:

First: Notice signals. Do you feel your breath getting shallow or your jaw clenching? If so, take a deep, slow breath; it's a tiny reset button.
Second: Reframe the delay. Slow everything down for a beat. Instead of seeing something as an obstacle, maybe view it as a bonus minute to think, listen to a song, or just... exist.
Third: And this is key; practice micro-patience. Start small - like waiting the extra five seconds before hitting 'send' on an email. Shift your focus from what you want, right now, to who you want to be in this moment. That tiny shift can change the whole vibe.

Patience isn't about pretending you're calm. It's about choosing how you show up while you're waiting. It builds up that muscle. It's a process, not a switch. You get better every time you try.
