Have you ever wanted to get even with somebody? Why? What did they do to or for you? If I am right, chances are you want to get even for all the wrong reasons. Maybe you are upset or seeking revenge because of something stupid that happened, maybe worse. Yes, I get it, but what about all the people who have helped you in your life? Aren't they the ones who deserve your attention and energy? Why can't we say to those who helped us, "Thank you! What can I do to help YOU today?"

Throughout your life, there will be numerous mentors, coaches, family, and friends who take an interest in you. Some were there for you when you were younger, in your formative years. Later as a teen, others showed up. Who isn't grateful for the neighbor who took your side during a dispute to help you feel safe? All of these people advised you the best they could and tried to lift you up. They believed in you and helped you believe in yourself.

It seems that those who report the news focus about 98% on negative and 2% on positive. Why can't we start spreading more good news? We want it; we crave it; we need it now more than ever. Why can't the news focus on real people who help others?

Be grateful for anyone who was there with you when you needed someone to be on your side. Step up and think about who you are sharing your energy with. Make sure it is someone who has helped you.
