Why Is The First Step So Difficult?

Do you ever hesitate and second guess yourself when approaching a complex task or opportunity? Many people do, and that's your mind playing a trick on you. If, in the past, you've kept your feet firmly planted and decided not to move forward, your brain remembers this. When similar situations arise, your mind quickly pulls up that scenario and quietly says, "This is what we did last time," not realizing that another scenario is really in play > you want the reaction to be different > and you want to move forward.

If you have difficulty starting because of your past experiences and their outcomes, take that first step forward anyway. Then take another step and another. Once you overcome the fear that seems to well up before you jump into your anticipated experience, you will feel so free and ready for the adventure you can hardly wait until you're truly in the middle of it.

Congratulate yourself when you make progress, and no criticism when you don't. Start again, if needed, and go a little farther this time. You will accomplish your objective with practice in the timeline you set for yourself.
