Speak With Intention
Have you ever realized the effect your words have on other people? I mean, really thought about it? I'm pretty sure you want them to be taken as positive - most of us do. It's just... in the moment, when emotions run high or we're rushing, it's easy to forget.
But what if, before any conversation, you paused and asked yourself: "Is what I'm about to say going to help or hurt this relationship?" That simple question can shift everything. It makes you more intentional, more kind.
You ever notice how once words leave your mouth, there's no taking them back? Even if you say sorry later, the feeling might still stick with them. It's not always that we're being mean - sometimes we're just drained, or our mind's somewhere else. But even then, what we say still lands. And it either brings people a little closer... or pushes them just a bit further away.
Thinking before we speak - it isn't about being perfect, it's about caring enough to slow down; long enough to ask: "Do I have to say this? And if I do, can I say it in a way that doesn't damage the person in front of me?"
Why? Because people are carrying more than they show. Your words could be the one thing that lifts them up... or leaves another bruise. It really does matter.
