"Take up a cup of coffee, relax and think about things; things other than that which troubles you. Quite often, through this method, problems find their own solutions. "

Why Thinking Harder Doesn't Help
Ever notice how the more you think about a problem, the more stuck you feel instead of clearer?
If that sounds familiar, the following short reflection might help connect a few dots you did not even know were there. It is not about fixing yourself, just understanding what might be quietly keeping you stuck.
Most of us say we are thinking about a problem, but if we are honest, we are usually just replaying it. Over and over. Same story, same frustration, same emotional charge. That is not problem solving. That is rumination dressed up as effort.
I catch myself doing this too. It feels productive, almost responsible. Like if I just think harder, something will change. But often it does not. What actually happens is the mind grabs the issue and the ego jumps in to protect its position. To be right. To avoid discomfort. To keep control. And before we know it, we are stuck defending the problem instead of moving past it.
Sometimes the real shift happens when we stop staring at the issue altogether. When we give the mind a little breathing room. Not avoidance. Just space. That is when insights sneak in quietly, without force. Not because we pushed, but because we finally got out of the way.
Overthinking can feel safe, but it is often fear in disguise. Fear of letting go. Fear of trusting a different direction. And the ego loves fear because it keeps things familiar.
So here are two questions to consider:
Are you actually working toward an answer, or are you keeping the loop alive because it feels known?
And what might change if you stepped back and let life show you the next move instead of arguing with it?
It's going to be a good day - make it happen!
Love and blessings,
Marlene
