Today, in the USA, we honor and remember our veterans who have served in the military. What is a Veteran? According to Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations defines a veteran as "a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable."
What do you think it takes to serve in the military, any branch, any job? Stew Smith asked this question during a holiday gathering.
A list started to grow and comes from a combination of civilians and veterans who were in the room. You can read their answers here: What Does it Take to Serve?
Remember, there is something special about those who served our country, and we should honor all who put their lives on the line so that we can live as a free society. It gives me pause to think of their bravery and courage and fills my heart with humility and pride.
I am thankful every single day for those who put on the uniform and represent the best of us. May God bless our Vets and their families abundantly, and may we as a nation never forget their sacrifices. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude.
Take care and thank a Veteran and remember them not only today but every day!
Love and blessings,
Marlene
