Joy Is Something We Have To Reach For

Joy's not something that just knocks on the door and walks in. You've got to open the door, invite it, and sometimes go out and look for it.

Life is messy, unpredictable, and sometimes heavy. If you're waiting for the perfect moment to feel joy, you could be waiting forever. That's the truth no one really wants to say out loud, but I will.

I went through some devastating experiences over the last year, and for peace of mind, I had to choose to find some joy every day. Sometimes it showed up in unexpected places from people I didn't even know. Other times, it was right in front of me. Looking for the good gave me the strength to handle the not-so-good.

So here's the good news for you: joy isn't hiding. It's just quiet. You find it in small things - sunshine on your face, a kind word, a deep breath.

You find it when you stop scrolling for a minute and actually notice what's in front of you. And when life's hard, choosing joy doesn't mean you're ignoring the hard stuff - it just means you're making space for something good, too.

You get to decide what you're looking for. You get to shift your focus. That power? It's already in your hands.

If today feels heavy, ask yourself: where's one small moment of joy I can grab onto right now?

Then do it again tomorrow. And the next day.

Joy is a choice. And it's one worth making over and over again.
