You Are Strong, Remember This

You know you're a strong person, but how do you gain more strength? I believe it happens when you accept the responsibility to face tough things, move forward, and work through them to a conclusion. Sounds easy, right? Not always.

Life will present you with wild scenarios that can stagger you. Looking back on your life, and all you've been through and survived, can instill a quiet confidence in your ability to handle whatever comes your way.

But sometimes, when a problem or obstacle arises, you may consider asking for assistance.

I believe that I am a pretty strong woman - in fact, I know I am. Yet at times, I still get rattled and procrastinate. Why? A bit of fear that I can't figure out one of the pieces that will bring my dilemma to a positive conclusion.

So what can you do? Think solution-oriented.

First, try to solve the issue yourself. Why? Because it shows you're not lazy and that you are committed to finding a solution.

Second, if you need assistance, make sure you ask the right person. Not everyone will be able to assist you in the way you need.

Third, once you find the right person, be sure to state your problem clearly and specify what exact piece of the solution you need help with. Help comes in a variety of ways: Advice? Expertise? Other support?

Finally, always thank the person and show respect for their time and willingness to help you. Remember: Most people don't like dealing with problems but they love being part of the solutions.
