A Little Closer to Home

What we seek in others begins with us.

Sometimes a simple thought can make us look at ourselves a little differently.

Reading through my list of quotes today, this one jumped out at me. It is so simple, but it made me stop.

I thought to myself, "If I want to make new friends who are kind and caring, what am I bringing into that friendship? Am I being the kind of person I hope to meet?"

That question can go a little deeper than friendship, too.

Maybe we all have qualities we hope to find in other people... patience, kindness, honesty, understanding.

And sometimes it is worth wondering if we are asking someone else to bring something into our lives that we haven't quite figured out for ourselves.

Maybe it is just about noticing.

The next time you find yourself wishing someone were a little more patient, thoughtful, or caring, I wonder what might happen if you quietly asked yourself about that quality, too.

Maybe that is where this simple quote gets interesting.

Take care and have a fantastic day,

Love and blessings,
Marlene
