A Little More Time
Sometimes a week disappears before we notice.
As a kid, summer could feel like it would never end. Now, sometimes I blink and a week is gone.
It makes me wonder how easily we believe there will always be more time.
More time to call someone.
More time to notice a sunset.
More time to sit quietly, laugh with a friend, take a trip, or simply enjoy being here.
I wonder what might happen if we became conscious of how short this life really is.
Would the small things become bigger?
Would we look at the people we love differently? Maybe tell them that we still love them, even now.
Lately, I find myself wanting more peace and serenity, but also more excitement and adventure.
Maybe those things aren't opposites.
Maybe being aware that our time is limited doesn't make life feel smaller.
Maybe it helps us notice how much of it is already here.
