The Light You Leave With Someone
Sometimes, people see it in you before you do.
A few days ago, someone from my high school passed away, and I've found myself thinking about the kind of person he was.
He was quiet. But somehow, he had a way of encouraging people to dream a little bigger, try something they might have been afraid to try, or simply believe they could do it.
And I've been wondering about that.
How does someone become that kind of person?
Maybe it isn't something they decide to be. Maybe it's something inside them that keeps showing up - in the way they speak to people, the time they give, or the causes they quietly support.
You probably know someone like that.
Or maybe, without realizing it, you've been that person for someone else.
Sometimes your light doesn't feel especially bright to you. You're just being yourself. But someone else may be seeing enough of it to take their next step.
I think that's worth remembering.
And maybe today is a good day to turn it up just a little.
