The View Changes Everything

I've been thinking about this...

Why do we feel like we need to have everything figured out right now? The perfect job. The perfect relationship. The perfect plan. The perfect version of ourselves.

Can you imagine actually getting everything you want all at the exact same time?

Honestly, that sounds exhausting.

Sometimes we forget that we are human. We can only give so much of ourselves to so many things at once.

And maybe that is okay.

Maybe we were never supposed to handle everything all at the same time.

When I look at people who have accomplished things most people only dream about, I don't think they got there by doing everything at once. They made choices. They focused on what mattered in that season of life. Then, when the time was right, they moved toward the next thing.

That thought has always stayed with me.

The more I think about this, the more I wonder if we put too much pressure on ourselves to have everything figured out at once.

I think there is something powerful about being present with the season of life we are in, while still working toward where we want to go.

Maybe we don't have to rush every chapter.

Maybe we can appreciate this one while we are still writing it.
