    "People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are.
    I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world
    Are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want,

    The Critic

    "A little seed lay in the ground,
    and soon began to sprout;
    Now which of all the flowers around.
    It mused, "shall I come out?
    The lily's face is fair and proud,
    but just a trifle cold;
    The rose I think, is rather loud,
    and then, its fashion old.
    The violet is all very well,
    but not the flower I would choose;
    Nor yet the Canterbury bell -
    I never cared for blues."
    And so it criticized each flower,
    the supercilious seed,
    Until it woke one summer morn,
    and found itself --- a weed."

    "When we enter this world we are a blank canvas.
    And as we walk through this life, each person we meet
    Leaves a brush stroke upon us.
    Some leave red and others leave blue or yellow.
    But there comes a time in all our lives when we must pick up the brush
    And decide whether we are going to be just another painting
    Or a masterpiece --- go for the masterpiece!"

    "So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet,will not take initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future.

    The very basic core of a man's living spirit is in his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our experiences and hence there is no greater joy to have an endless changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

    If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and incredible beauty."

    Look At Your Life As A Do It Yourself Project

    You can think of yourself as a work in progress.
    Start thinking of your life as a painting and yourself as the artist.
    If the colors aren't right, paint over them with new colors.
    If your life canvas is missing something,
    Find out what it is and paint it in.
    Not enough room for all you want in your painting?
    Prioritize the most important elements in first, or get a bigger canvas.

    Do It Anyway

    " People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
    Forgive them anyway.

    If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
    Be kind anyway.

    If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
    Succeed anyway.

    If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
    Be honest and frank anyway.

    What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
    Build anyway.

    If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
    Be happy anyway.

    The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
    Do good anyway.

    Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
    Give the world the best you have anyway.

    You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
    It was never between you and them anyway."
