Focus: Grab Your Life And Go
|
Welcome to the Eleventh Edition of MotivateUs.com's Newsletter
Dear Friend,
As someone who owns her own small business, I don't have a huge company behind me, with a path for career growth; I have to call upon myself to do this. Each day, I'm always looking for ways to improve myself, my skills, our website and newsletters. In addition, I am constantly researching resources that could be of use or value to you.
What I need is for you to share with me, what topics you feel you need help with: communication skills, business skills, how to stay motivated, how to control your thoughts amongst many other.
If you can tell me what you need, I know I can find resources for you.
Let's face it, the world has changed and we have to change with it. May I suggest that you start today to discover what your ideal life would look like? Develop a plan on how you are going to attain it. Decide what steps you need to take to start to bring your dream into reality and to ask yourself this question: What price are you willing to pay to have that life?
No, it may not be easy - but anything worth having rarely comes easily. Stay focused, take action, reassess on a timely basis and be willing to change tactics that don't seem to work.
You can do it!
If you have an idea or need to discuss a challenge, just send me email:

Here's to you and the life you want to live!

Something I Was Feeling and Thinking:
Did you know that even positive, motivated people sometimes just don't feel like it?
It's true. It happens to everyone, without exception. Sometimes I find myself saying, "I'll do it later", and low and behold, it just doesn't get done.
I came across this article, by way of Lauren Covington, who constantly inspires me with her quote, article and story submissions and knew I would share it with you.
Let me give you a little background on Mr. Eker, so you have a better picture of who he is.
T. Harv Eker is the son of European immigrants who came to North America with only thirty dollars to their name. He grew up in Toronto, but spent most of his adult years in the United States.
He had a variety of jobs and started more than a dozen different businesses, but regardless of what he did, or how hard he worked, he just couldn't achieve success.
Finally after many years of frustration, Eker hit the jackpot. He opened one of the first retail fitness stores in North America and grew the business to ten stores in only two and a half years. He then sold part of the company to a Fortune 500 corporation.
With the sale, Eker reached his dream. He was finally a millionaire; however, in less than two years, the money was gone. Through a combination of poor investments and unchecked spending, Eker was back at his original net worth... again. But... he didn't stay there.
Act In Spite of Your Mood! by T. Harv Eker
"I don't 'feel' like it", is a common chant we often say to ourselves or to others when we're tired, not in the mood, or simply procrastinating. No doubt feelings are important and need to be acknowledged, yet at the same time, they often prevent us from taking the action we need to take, at the time we need to take it. Consequently, in the end, because we didn't do what we needed to do, we tend to feel worse.
It takes courage to act regardless of your current mood. It's easy to succumb to your feelings. But remember, your feelings come from your thoughts, and you have the power to change your thoughts. When you change your thoughts, you will change the way you feel. Instead of focusing on how you're not in the mood, focus on the benefit of completing whatever needs to get done. Focus on how you'll feel when you're finished and how proud you'll be of yourself for acting in spite of not being in the perfect mood.
Utilize the "law of momentum" which states that, "A body at rest tends to remain at rest while a body in motion tends to remain in motion". In short, get into motion! Remember, moods are a product of the "mind". The trick is simple: don't think, just do it!
Train yourself to "get started" even if you're not in the mood. Moods tend to quickly dissipate once you're in action.
Whenever you don't "feel" like it, check in with your current thoughts. What are you thinking that is resulting in this feeling? Then simply change your thoughts. Remember, action generally comes from your higher self, the part of you that is for growth and expansion. Inaction generally comes from your protective mind, the part of you that tries to keep you stuck in your comfort zone. When you act in spite of your mood, you are choosing to manage and control your mind instead of letting it control you!
So the next time you're not feeling "in the mood", either change your thinking or simply say to your mind, "thank you for sharing". Then focus on only taking the very first step to get started, then take another, and another. One step at a time until the law of momentum kicks in. By then, chances are you'll forget all about not being "in the mood", and will be well on your way to completing whatever it was you needed to do...and feeling great about it!

Something I'd Like To Share:
I Love Myself The Way I Am
I love myself the way I am, there's nothing I need to change.
I'll always be the perfect me, there's nothing to rearrange.
I'm beautiful and capable, of being the best me I can.
And I love myself, just the way I am.
I love you the way you are, there's nothing you need to do.
When I feel the love inside, it's easy to love you.
Behind your fears, your rage and tears, I see your shining star.
And I love you, just the way your are.
I love the world the way it is, cause I can clearly see.
That all the things I judge are done, by people just like me.
So 'til the birth of peace on earth, that only love can bring.
I'll help it grow, by loving everything.
I love myself the way I am, and I still want to grow.
But change outside can only come, when deep inside I know
I'm beautiful and capable, of being the best me I can.
And I love myself, just the way I am.

An Article To Ponder:
Grab Your Life And Go!
I think fear is something we all have face in our lives on a daily basis to one degree or another. I know personally I always wish I had more courage or I could be brave like "other" people.
I have let fear and self-doubt stop me from doing SO much in my life I am almost ashamed. I always thought "well one day I will be brave enough or I will gather enough courage if I could just do..."
But I had it all wrong and it was one of my favorite quotes from MotivateUs.com that helped to open my eyes:
"You don't become brave by not being afraid, you become brave by being afraid yet doing it anyway."
And that, coupled with my 2nd favorite quote,
"All motivation means is not wanting to do something yet finding a way to do it anyways."
These 2 quotes are very near and dear to my heart and they show us that we do not have to wait for anything, the perfect time, the perfect place, the perfect person, the perfect opportunity, it simply does not exists!!!
Our mind is playing games with us, our fear and self-doubt is just taunting us. There is no better time or place then NOW! You won't ever become brave or motivated enough to do what you want by sitting around waiting; never going to happen.
You beat your fears by facing them; you find motivation by doing the things you REALLY do not want to do.
The only difference between you and me and people who are "champions" is they are willing to face their fears no matter how scared they might be, or they are willing to pay the price most of us have not (yet).
Not many people "like" working out or practicing things over and over again but that's what it takes to become good at something. You might not want to do it but do it anyways -THAT'S MOTIVATION!
You might be scared to death to do something, but do it anyways -THAT'S BRAVERY! We all have the power inside us; we just have to realize it and tap it. This is probably the biggest thing this great website and all the fantastic quotes have taught me.
No matter what I just need to do it, it won't always be perfect or pretty but that is not what's important. What's most important is that I tried. Win or lose, it matters not. I won't hit a home run every time but I definitely won't hit anything if I don't swing.
Take your shot in life and don't let anything or anyone stand in your way; it's YOUR life, not theirs. Family, friends, co-workers most of them mean well and some of them are well, just plain mean. You can either live life on your terms or theirs, the choice always has been and always will be YOURS!

Three Quotes To Motivate You:
"You are the bravest person I know and although you don't see it, others around you and I see it. Your family sees it. You are the only one who can't see it and you know why you can't see it? Because you have your eyes closed. Open your eyes; look deep within yourself and it is here that you will find the strength and courage to slay your demons."

"Life moves forward not backwards. It cannot move back and you cannot go back. It is like time. It is time. Do not let words or judgments that people put on you stop you from moving forward. You have no time to waste to allow anyone to push you back. You must move forward to keep up with who you are and what you want in life. Moving back will only slow you down. Only listen to and let things that push you forward affect you. That is all you need and nothing more."

"When your confidence flies away, just close your eyes and tell yourself that you can do it. Believe in yourself and you will come alive."

Until Next Time, Remember:
It's Your Life
Life is like a song,
So sing it loud and clear
As we move along
What's important, we keep near
Each turn we take is another chance
And opens up another door
It's up to us if we get up and dance
Or choose to sit on the floor
As we grow older
We start to see
The world is on our shoulder
And reality is telling us
we are not who we want to be
Each day becomes an effort
And we begin sleeping through our lives
There is so much pain and hurt
Everyone stabbing each other with knives
All others become a bad influence
Your life is now at stake
The key to true repentance
Is what we choose to take
You see, life is what we make it
Nothing more and nothing less
Trust is strong but once you break it
Everything becomes a mess
But what good does it do for us to cry
What good does it do to whine
Everybody lives and everybody has to die
We all go through pain and have a set amount of time
All that we can do, is look to the future with hope
That someday things will all make sense
As time goes on, we will find ways to cope
And the pain will no longer seem so intense
We'll put on a smile, sing life's song with love
Hang around for a while
And seek God's grace from up above
Do your best to make sense
Of everything you're given
If nothing works out
Hold your head up high, keep living
There will be times when pain is all we feel
The clouds are all we can see
It will seem to be too much for us to deal
But in the end, God will set us free
Open up your mind
And just live for today
Each of us, our paths will wind
As we search and find our way
Near the end of our life
As we walk through our last days
We'll back look at the things
That helped light our way
We'll see all the mistakes we made
And the people who were there
The things that may have caused our smiles to fade
And the smell of the cool, fresh air
You'll think about the people you'll never know by name
And all of the joy you felt
When someone kept you from going insane
And helped you to live with the hand you've been dealt
You'll remember the sun that always came out
After the passing of the rain
It wouldn't allow you to doubt
That the joy was worth the pain
