"Thoughts For The Day About How To Live"

"As we approach the holidays, let us remember those who died in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and everyone who isn't able to be here. May you all rest in peace. Let us be thankful for the lives that we have and are fortunate to live, for one day, as may have shown, could very well be your last. However, although some say to live everyday like it's your last, more importantly be sure to dream each day like you're going to live forever."

"Live so that when your children think of fairness, risk taker, explosive, strong, educated, love, dedicated, integrity, kind, a no foolishness type, and charm, the first person that comes to mind is YOU."

"You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world's problems at once but don't ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shownus that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own."

"When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies within yourself."

"The more we measure the less we live. We have been conditioned to believe that setting goals & measuring everything we do will bring us happiness, peace and success. While this may be work for "material happiness", the opposite is true for authentic happiness. Stop measuring the distance you run, the calories you eat, the money you make & all the other things that you measure. Delete the "measuring files" from your mind and instead replace the time spent on them with acts of kindness, patience, understanding and generosity; true peace and happiness will follow."

"Anxiety is the assassinator of creativity. You cannot operate simultaneously under two opposite forces; you can only travel in one vehicle at a time. No matter the situation you're in, you need your creative mind to get out of it. So, do not worry, put your mind at rest and put your mind to work - (what an euphemism)."

"The struggle begins in the mind. Defeat it in your mind and you will wipe it out of your heart. The heart is the birthplace of victories or failures. Which one will you give birth to?"

"Whether you know it or not, whether you mean or care, gentleness, kindness, love and hate, envy and anger are there. Then would you quarrels avoid, and in peace and love rejoice? Keep anger not only out of your words but keep it out of your voice."

"Stay in tune with your spirit. Be calm and think. Listen to your inner voice. Anticipate and plan. Take 100% responsibility for your life. Lean into your struggles. Act with courage. Maintain an open mind. Practice kindness and compassion. Keep your promises. Forgive, let go, and move forward. This is how you get from where you are to where you want to be. I've learned these concepts gradually over the last couple of years. Together they have helped me live a life of purpose. Had I understood these things 10 years ago, I could have avoided quite a bit of confusion and grief. My hope is that they help you hurdle over some of the barriers I stumbled into on the road of life."
