Author Unknown --- Submitted by Ashton G. --- Texas

"You cannot escape your life but can only use your determination and courage to make it the best you can."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Bre M., Age 18 --- Georgia
So many teens think they can run away from their problems and their problems will not follow them while in reality they will. This quote is basically saying that life isn't easy but if you're determined to make it the best, it will be the best. Life is full of choices and it's your life and your choices so make it the best.

"An enigma to others is not an enigma to people close to him."
Written in 2007 by Samarth B., Age 19 --- India

"I'm selfish, impatient & a little insecure. I make mistakes, I'm out of control & at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."
Marilyn Monroe --- Submitted by Jessica Z., Age 15 --- California
I like this quote because it reminds everyone that people are only worth your trouble if you're worth theirs.

"Self-esteem isn't the only thing. It's just that there's nothing without it."
Gloria Steinem --- Submitted by Kate F., Age 16 --- Wisconsin

"It takes knowledge to know something. It takes guts to do what you know."
Written in 2007 by Pete W. Z., Age 15 --- Philippines

"I am who I am; your approval isn't needed."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Shelby K., Age 15 --- Indiana
I think that it is funny when people try to judge me because what they don't know is that I could care less what they think about me! :]

"We all have a past - some not so great and some not half bad - but one thing to remember: we all have futures."
Written in 2007 by Samantha T., Age 14 --- Oklahoma
I just wanted to let people know never to hesitate looking forward and to never look back.

"Let him go. He doesn't need you and you don't need the trouble that he is causing you. So, for your sake and those around, you let him go!"
Written in 2007 by Jo, Age 16 --- California
I've been through way too much with my friends and their boyfriends, to know when someone is not treating you right.

"Trying is hard work; and giving up is lazy."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Kate M., Age 14
I chose this because it tells that if you try but give up then you fail. But if you try putting a heart full of effort and believe in yourself, then, you are being the best you can be.

"When you feel down and like nobody is there to help you, always know that people feel you are strong enough to pick yourself up and not be carried through life."
Written in 2007 by Samantha T., Age 14 --- Oklahoma
I wrote this one because I used to feel alone until I realized people saw how I could never fall and stay on the ground, I always get right back up.

"There is that little thing ticking inside you that lets you know that you are still a kid."
Written in 2007 by Kristi D., Age 15 --- Washington
I didn't know what it meant when I wrote it, but now I think that what it means is since I am a child of God and He is in my heart and is speaking to me, that is the kind of hope I need to keep on doing what I have been led to believe is 'right' and 'just'.

"This Is Your Life. What will you do to make it worthwhile? If you sit back and wait for everyone else to do things for you, you will be forgotten. So this is your chance. Make Yourself Unforgettable!"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by J.B., Age 19 --- BC, Canada

"Groups (cliques) are like barriers; they don't keep people out but they do box you in."
Written in 2007 by Ali S., Age 13 --- Washington

HOW YOU SEE YOURSELF

Being different is not all ways easy.
Sometimes you feel left out
Or you have no friends and no one to talk to.
You feel alone.
You feel that you want to fit in.
Sometimes you do whatever it takes to fit in.
Other times you scared of meeting new people.
Therefore, you do absolutely nothing.
Then again, maybe you want to be alone
And you're glad that you have nobody to talk to,
But you are really just lying to yourself.
You want a friend very bad but there is no one around.
Maybe, someday, you will find those friends you are looking for
Now just remember:
How you see yourself is what other people are going to see!

"Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired."
Jules Renard --- Submitted by Kate F., Age 15 --- Wisconsin
I'm a gymnast and a pole vaulter. My coach thinks I have a lot of potential in the pole vault so I do workouts everyday to improve my speed and strength. Whenever I don't feel like doing anything, I think of this quote. I always feel like I'm proving something to myself everyday.

"Be proud of who you are, not someone you're not."
Written in 2007 by Nicole P., Age 16 --- United Kingdom
I dislike people who act differently around others or new people. Be proud! You are unique! There is no one like you in the whole world... be you, because that's the best person you can be!

"When life gives you 100 reasons to cry, think of 1,000 reasons to smile!"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Amber J., Age 16 --- Ohio
This is so true to my friends and me.

"Failure is an attitude, not an outcome."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by N.Z., Age 16 --- Egypt
I think this quote is very important and I try to remind myself everyday about this concept. It's the attitude you chose to follow which results in a certain outcome. It's all about your choice and attitude towards life!!

"Every small step forward is a step in the right direction!"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Melissa E., Age 15 --- Australia
My teacher wrote this on the board in our math room.

"Forgiving is going up to a person either in your fantasies or in reality and saying, "I don't understand, I'll never understand and it wasn't OK and it isn't OK but I forgive you." Forgiving doesn't make a person a doormat. Forgiving isn't the same as tolerance. Forgiver's don't have to be fools. Forgiving is healing yourself of something that happened to you that you cannot tolerate, but you forgive it as the only way to heal the wounds left with you."
Wrestling with Angels --- Submitted by Hayley P., Age 15 --- Florida
I got this quote from the FCA at our school. I have always had a hard time forgiving people and when I received this I thought, "Hey, wow, I can do that". It just really makes me think.
