" Without books the development of civilization would have been impossible. They are the engines of change, windows of the world, lighthouses erect in the sea of time. They are companions, teachers, magicians, bankers of the treasures of the mind. Books are humanity in print."

I wrote this quote for my class the beginning of the year. I wanted my students to know that I expected great things from them and the people who succeed in life, succeed without making excuses.

" The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of the mystery everyday. Never lose a holy curiosity."

" I never realized the extent of a teacher's job until I met Mrs. Reid. I was a senior in High School and life was definitely not at it's best. I was searching for something, but I wasn't sure exactly where to find it. Mrs. Reid allowed me to see my own inner strength and beauty. She gave me wings and I had to decide to fly. Her constant encouragement was a blessing from God and now I truly know that God created teachers EXTRA SPECIAL. If it were not for her, I would not be the person I am today; a confidant, well rounded child of God."

My English III A.P. Teacher said this to our class because it was the last day of the 9 weeks. She was telling us that she can change our grades if it came to doing so. She said this quote and all of the class laughed! :) So I hope you enjoy the quote just like our class did.
