Confucius

"The happiest life is that which constantly exercises and educates what is best in us."
Philip G. Hamerton

"Each moment is a teacher. Nothing that happens is a mistake --- there are no accidents. Every situation in your life has something to teach you. A "mistake" can teach you more than a "right" move. Remember this."

"The sweetest music is the song your soul sings."

"Take Control - Make It Happen"
Author Unknown --- Submitted by J. Cox --- Texas
I might be the author as I have never seen the quote in print - I came up with the saying for my Student Council Members; to motivate them to complete projects.

"To know is nothing at all; to imagine is everything."
Anatole France

"Nothing would be done, at all, if we waited until we could do it so well that no one could find fault with it."
Cardinal Newman

"My teacher is my best friend; she saved me from the pain of depression only because she allowed herself to remember from her past experience. She saved me from suicide only because she put herself on the line to help me. She is there for me whenever I need her, if ever I am sad or lonely or need that smile only she can give. I love you more than anything on this earth and I want to say thank you. And I love you, because I can never tell you myself."

"The principal mark of genius is not perfection but originality, the opening of new frontiers."
Arthur Koestler

"Curiosity is one of the permanent and certain characteristics of a vigorous mind."
Samuel Johnson

"The foundation of a home is what allows it to withstand the forces of nature. The foundation of a person's personal achievements is Education. Approach each day at school as you would at the construction site. Stay focused in school and the bricks of your home will shelter you forever."

MY TEACHERS

I stand before you preaching, selling, teaching, telling.
You gaze with little satisfaction;
"Give me, don't sell-- show me, don't tell."
Time to move on.

"Is that all you have to say?"
Did I make a difference today?
I have learned to be the student.
There is no end to what you need.
It's only my job to plant the seed.

With what I offer, plant the seed--let it grow.
All that you've taught me you'll never know.

This is dedicated to all of my past and present students, my true teachers. Thank you for the inspiration.

"Make something your specialty. Life is a very uncertain affair. Knowing a little about 500 things won't do us much good. We must be able to do something well, that our work will be needed and valuable."
Thomas Carlyle

"Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information upon it."
Samuel Johnson

"Acquire new knowledge whilst thinking over the old,
And you may become a teacher of others."
Confucius

SO MANY DAYS

So many days we are going to miss,
It's not the same anymore.
So many things I never got to say,
So many memories that I wish could last forever.

All this year, I couldn't wait to go home.
But now I find myself coming back every chance I get.
I can't help but wonder why,
Why I don't want to leave,
And why I cannot stay.

This is the greatest year
That I could ever have.
These are the greatest teachers
Anyone could ever wish for.

To my favorite teachers: Everything I do will always remind me of you guys. Mr. Cooke, I will remember that Iwas in your class when the terrorist attack happened. Mr. Crocker, I will remember you because you are thebiggest freak I have ever known (you're the coolest). And last and most important Mrs. Tellier. You have had the BIGGEST impact on my life because you have helped me in so many ways. You helped me find out that I want to be a writer, that everything I wished for would one day come true. I will always remember you because you are the greatest friend anyone could ever wish for. I love you guys!

"Love is the simple language of the heart."

"Listen to your teacher, just once, because you may learn something that will change your life and if you don't learn anything you have not gained nor lost anything, but listen again until you learn something. Another thing: if you are in class you might as well listen because you have nothing else to do or go at that given moment."

Teachers do know what you are going through because believe it or not they were once students who listened.

"Whatever you are, be a good one."
Abraham Lincoln
