There Will Be Struggles In Your Life

June 13, 2008

It's a struggle.

A struggle to be a teen Mother and being worried about the day ahead; to be scared and afraid that you will not be accepted by anyone.

It's a struggle.

A struggle to see my Parents watch their little girl grow up with fear; with tears in their eyes and shame in their faces.

It's a struggle.

A struggle that I SHALL OVERCOME!

I am submitting this poem with my daughter's permission. She is a 16 year old mother of a 10 month old son, name Elijah. She is a wonderful and creative teenager who can be an encouragement to other teen mothers. I am extremely proud of her and how she has handling being a mother at 15. When other girls her age are worried about prom dresses and manicures; she is up rocking a fussing baby in the middle of the night. But, she knows that God has a plan and purpose for her life and the life of her son Elijah.
