"All along your life, people come and go. Some hurt you, some make you smile, but each one of them leaves something of theirs with us. The new lessons they teach us, the new aspects of life they show us, making us better equipped to face the world --- stronger."
Author Unknown --- Submitted by Julie L. --- Germany
I have spent a lot of my time crying and hurting trying to figure out why people come and hurt us and then leave. But the truth is life moves on and with every person that comes in our life, we learn more and become stronger and braver.

"Always remember: It takes the same amount of time and energy to hate someone as it does to love someone."
Written in 2006 by J. T. --- West Virginia
I created this because it is very true. It also happens in everyday lives. You always have the choice in your heart to hate someone. Love is difficult and so are the people you choose to hate. It's all about compromise. And it's all up to you.

"Loneliness will be your greatest, darkest, most cruel demon, and taking a step to make a kind true friend will surely make you uncomfortable. Be uncomfortable, not alone."

Although I was considered to be one of the most outgoing of people, even amongst my closest peers, even whilst being on stage, I always felt so lonely and scared. It has taken thirty years of darkness, a broken heart, deep tears and a grieved mind to learn I was never really alone and that many people truly loved me for who I was - if only I had opened my heart to them. I am not alone, and neither are you.

"People of character do the right thing, not because they think it will change the world but because they refuse to be changed by the world. Neither the intensity of your feelings nor the certainty of your convictions is any assurance that you are right. The real test of character is whether you will do the right thing even when it costs more than you want to pay."

"People who appreciate, know and value your potential are people who let you be yourself. They do not pressure you to make decisions, instead let you make the options and decide in your own pace and time. Even if you will make an unpopular decision, they will still be there to support you. Treat these people in your life with deserved honesty, respect and trust that with open communication, no dispute would happen and no bridges will be burnt."

I handle the Quality Assurance Department in a Call Center environment. Competition among companies within the vicinity of our Center is tight. I instill with the team that if they would want to seek greener pasture or leave the company for whatever reason, the decision would have to come from them and not because they were pressured by peers who already transferred to another company to jump ahead and be with them. Not only that, I teach them the VALUE of loving the job - that when you do it, it's not work anymore but it converts to passion which gets better results. When we love our work/job, it loves us back and gives us monetary value we deserve. And should they still decide to leave afterwards, they should remain honest and show respect to their colleagues and friends by exiting with grace instead of burning bridges.

"You are where you are today because you stand on somebody's shoulders. And wherever you are heading, you cannot get there by yourself. If you stand on the shoulders of others, you have a reciprocal responsibility to live your life so that others may stand on your shoulders. It's the quid pro quo of life. We exist temporarily through what we take, but we live forever through what we give."
Vernon Jordan (in a speech at Howard University, 2002)

"Always stick with your intuition; your gut instinct will never lead you astray. Instead of questioning it, accept it, and investigate why it makes you feel the way you do."
Written in 2006 by Brendan T. --- Canada
I have just had a weekend of clarity. In listening to my intuition, I knew what questions to ask and I had the answers, I just didn't want to accept them. Now I have and all is good.
